The Inaugural Function of N.S.S was held on 2nd August, 2016. A special talk on ‘Moral Values’ was organized on this occasion. A Tree plantations drive was also held.
54 NSS Volunteers participated in the celebration of Tiranga Yatra Programme on 14th August, 2016.
Ten volunteers participated in Digital India Workshop held at Panjab University On 26th September,2016. The college team participated in Poster Making Competition and bagged 1st Prize in it.
NSS day was celebrated on 24th September, 2016. 50 students participated in essay writing competition. Later in the day, 25 volunteers visited Govt. Rehabilitation Institute of Intellectually Disabled in sector-31 Chandigarh. The volunteers joined the student of the institute in their cultural program.
Seven days Day- Night Camp was organized from 10th to 16th October, 2016, under the theme ‘Swachh Bhart Abhiyan’ in college premises. Various projects were undertaken during the camp which focused on “Personality Development Through Social Service”. These included literacy classes for Burail children, Physical and mental fitness training of the volunteers, self-grooming classes, First Aid training awareness, traffic rules and road safety awareness, a special gym session awarded at clearing the doubts of the volunteers regarding their reproductive health.
Rashtriya Ekta saptah was celebrated by NSS units from 31st October to 6th November 2016. A number of activities were organized during this week. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge was administered, volunteers spoke on the role of Sardar Vallabhbhari Patel in the freedom struggle of India, Patriotic Song and Poems were recited, college making and Slogan Writing Competitions on ‘National Unity and Integrity ‘were organized and winners were given prizes. A run for unity was organized in sector-45 and adopted village Burail which has been uploaded on youtube.
Popular Punjabi Festival Lohri was celebrated on 13th January, 2017 in the college campus with much joy and vigor. Same day volunteers celebrated festival of sharing by distributing woolen clothes to the needy people.
12th to 16th January, 2017 was observed as Youth Week, dedicated to celebration of Swami Vivekanand’s Birth Anniversary. The theme for celebration in this week was “Youth for Digitization and Cashless Society”. Students taught the use of debit/credit and Paytm on to the people who did not know how to use these.
12 volunteers participated in the pulse polio campaign on 29th, 30th and 31stJanuary, 2017 and were awarded certificates.
A program on Skills Development Courses was organized by RMS School Tata Institute of Social Sciences on 1st April, 2017.
